Small but informative. A nice walk over to the canal locks, going under the auto bridge. A worthwhile stop off.

This is the places to stop and relax with a walk after driving north from Roanoke. The park has a picnic area ad bridge across the James river has a Pedestrian walkway below the Parkway. Go see the Old Canal locks. Stop at the gift shop.

Gorgeous view of the river with an amazing creekside trail that takes you to otter Lake waterfalls. A must if traveling the blue ridge parkway

A must-see stop along the parkway if you're passing through! Restrooms, informative ranger inside, and a beautiful view from the path under the bridge!

Beautiful and peaceful...
